A LITTLE ABOUT ME


Hello. My name is Sean Roach and I’m a visual artist and PBS KIDS Sprout Television host. I graduated from the Tyler School of Art in 1999 with a BFA in painting. Before becoming a Television show host I was a scenic artist and I worked with many notable companies like The Wilma Theater, Upstage Right Productions, Proof Productions, Busch Gardens, Nabisco, Kraft and many others. In 2006 I was commissioned to build a life size Mr. Peanut for Planters’ 100th Anniversary. This monumental sculpture now lives at the Atlantic City Historical Museum. In addition to sculpture and design, I create paintings and drawings of landscapes, portraits and murals. My most recent body of work has focused on portraiture using both oil paint and dry pastels as my medium. Shortly after graduating from Tyler I began studying theatre and acting and I became enamored with it. I have performed in over forty productions since 2001 and I am also a member of Comedy Sportz, which is a company that performs improvisational theatre year round. In January of 2008 I began hosting a television show on PBS KIDS Sprout, the first ever television station dedicated to 24-hour preschool programming. I co-host a LIVE and interactive show called The Sunny Side Up Show with my co-host, a chicken, named Chica. There are three hosts that rotate hosting with Chica on a three week cycle. Chica and I write all our own material and we have a blast doing crafts, singing songs, exercising and just hanging out in the Sunshine Barn. The show airs every weekday morning from 9am to 12noon Eastern Standard on Sprout and I can be seen every third week.
